CALGARY, Feb. 12 /CNW/ – At a time when the public health system appears
to be suffering from its own aches and pains, a Calgary-based clinic says it
may have the solution to Canada’s health care crunch. Like Oprah’s Dr Oz, The
Hoffman Centre espouses prevention; treating the whole patient, not just
physical symptoms.
The Hoffman Centre for Integrative Medicine (www.hoffmancentre.com) has
developed a 7-stage “wellness curriculum” that is designed to challenge the
way Canadians think about conventional health. The centre is a private clinic
with a goal to create greater health by seeking out causation of symptoms and
diseases across the spectrum of life-style, diet, social milieu, toxicity and
the environment, as well as emotions and consciousness itself.
“Our 7-stage wellness curriculum takes the emphasis off of disease
management in favor of wellness medicine,” says Dr Bruce Hoffman, medical
director of the centre. “This is a paradigm shift in terms of conventional
medicine.”
Dr Hoffman’s approach, called the 7-Stages to Health and
Transformation(TM), involves gaining an awareness of the root causes of
various symptoms and becoming actively involved in your own healing.
“As more people subscribe to this approach, we will see fewer people in
hospital waiting rooms, and more people living healthy, fulfilling lives,”
says Dr Hoffman.
Hoffman will promote his 7-stage approach at a seminar series in Calgary
in early March. The series will include an impressive list of speakers,
including special guest Dr John Demartini, better known as the celebrity
author featured in “The Secret”.
“Dr Hoffman is a pioneer in the field of wellness medicine,” states Dr
Demartini, “With the overall health index plummeting across North America
there has never been a more important time for people to take an integrated
approach to personal wellness.”
The seminar series is expected to draw participants from Canada, the
United States, and Europe. It takes place at the Metropolitan Convention
Centre in Calgary from March 1st to 2nd, 2008.
Note to Editors: Dr Hoffman and Dr Demartini will be available for media
opportunities through February 2008.
