A major review published today that says when all available data on antidepressants like Prozac are pooled, they’re no better than a placebo or dummy pill. The good news is that almost everyone does get better; the bad news is that the drugs make little or no difference except in the most severely depressed.Researchers used the Freedom of Information Act in the US to get hold of all trial results, including unpublished data, on four major antidepressant drugs. These included three commonly prescribed in the UK: Prozac, Seroxat and Efexor.
