Sometimes young people teach older people about even older treatments of diseases that plague us all. Such was the case when my son brought home a neti pot to be used in irrigating his nasal passages.
I was fascinated to watch him as he took the neti pot, which looked like a small, elongated teapot, and stuck it in his nostril. As he tilted his head to the side, he poured salt water into one side of his nose so it ran out the other nostril.
The process reminded me that this was the boy who, many years ago, sneezed while eating spaghetti causing a strand to slither out of his nose. Naturally, he put the end of the spaghetti in his mouth and sucked it back in. It looked sort of like giant dental (or nasal) floss. Read More…
