From DreamHealer “Intention Heals”
Emotions are feelings associated with thoughts and memories. The impact of emotions tends to settle and block the energy flow in a specific area if they are allowed to run unchecked in a negative direction. The area where this energy block occurs differs in each of us as does its intensity. We all have our own unique sensitivity levels to energy. Identify your area which you accumulate stress or illness. For example, what is your first physical reaction to a crisis? Do you get an instant headache; backache; stomach ache or the proverbial pain in the neck.

Imagine your emotional energy blockage as a log jam blocking the flow of a river. You must BURST the dam in order for the river to flow along its route again.

The following exercises will help you identify the impact on your daily life of all of the emotional difficulties you carry with you from your past. Often people who are very good at repressing these emotional issues find them manifesting physically as illnesses. For instance, we do not eliminate anger and guilt by ignoring them. They will seem to wait until you are ready to deal with them BUT they eventually will deal with you.

Write your answers to the following questions as thoroughly as you can. Make sure that you have made an effort to dig deeply so that you leave no emotional stone unturned. You are in control. Get in the driver’s seat; learn to identify these hazards and steer clear of them. Follow the step by step guide to adjust and modify these emotions to help you in your healing process.

Steps to Positively Influence Your Attitudes and Emotions

  1. Review what you have written in this exercise. Note that some of your beliefs and emotions are based on repetitions of fragmented ideas with no apparent solutions. Some issues tend to replay over and over.
  1. Underline any of your answers that repeat.
  1. Close your eyes and reflect on the issues and recurrent themes you have noted.  In self-talk, what ideas do you reinforce? Question yourself as to why you habitually have that particular thought. For instance, in reflecting on your use of the phrase, “I always have trouble in relationships,” you may not be sure whether this thought was a result of past events or whether your reality was influenced by your negative thought in the first place.
  1. Identifying these issues was only the first step. Now you must actively work on modifying or eliminating them. Releasing these harmful beliefs and emotions is the process we must focus on in order to positively influence your health.
  1. Identify what triggers habitual outdated beliefs and negative emotions in you. What reinforces your negative thoughts and emotions as you relate to events? How can you more positively deal with these emotions? On the next page write your healthier responses.
